Arizona is located in the southwestern region of the United States. Arizona shares borders with New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, Colorado, and California. It also shares an international border with Mexico.
Arizona is nicknamed ?The Grand Canyon State? and ?The Copper State.? Arizona has a desert climate. It has extremely hot summers and mild winters. Cooler weather can also be found in the mountain ranges and in the lower deserts.
Population figures for 2006 showed that Arizona was the fastest growing state in the United States. Its largest city is Phoenix, which is also the capital of the state. The second largest city in the state is Tucson.
