Dream On: More Action Verbs
About the Dream On: More Action Verbs Lesson
This lesson introduces another type of action verbs. It shows how intangible words such as dream, hope, fear, etc. can be used as action verbs. It also reinforces action words as an important part of a sentence.
• to introduce verbs that are more mental and less physical than many action verbs;
• to ensure that children understand different kinds of verbs;
• to encourage children to be creative in writing their own action and slower action verbs.
Verbs are action words. Without a verb we cannot make a sentence. We need a verb to tell us what is happening. In a sentence, verbs tell us about someone or something doing an action. Read the sentences below.
? Joseph climbed a mountain.
? Susan yells out a cheer.
