The lesson emphasizes the use of math in day to day life.
• The children will be able to apply an arithmetic operation (addition, subtraction, multiplication or division) on whole numbers.
• The children will be able to demonstrate the use of arithmetic operations to solve everyday problems.
Depending on their reading level, the children should read through the story themselves. Activity A helps them to identify the different types of calculations made during the course of the day. Activity B gives them some practice applying the different arithmetic operations themselves.
