Nouns are the part of speech we use the most. There are more nouns in the English language than any other word. Wow! Almost any word you can name is a noun. Nouns are words that name a person, place, or thing. For example, these words are all common nouns:
? clown: a person
? city: a place
? cookie: a thing.
? coyote: a thing
? courage: a thing
Proper nouns name a specific person, place, or thing. They begin with a capital letter.
