Galileo was born in February 1564 and died in January 1642. He was born in Pisa, Italy, and came from a poor noble family. He is regarded as a great scientist, physicist, mathematician, and astronomer. He is known as the Father of Modern Science and is said to have been a pioneer in the experimental scientific method.
In 1581, Galileo went to the Pisa University to study medicine. It is said that after overhearing a geometry lesson, he decided he wanted to study geometry and mathematics instead of medicine.
