Geography has many different terms. Latitude and longitude are two such terms. Latitudes are imaginary lines that circle the earth and are parallel to the equator. The equator is the zero degree latitude line. Lines of latitude are measured my degrees. These degrees represent the degree from the equator to the poles. The north pole is located at 90 degrees or 90 degrees North Latitude; the south pole is located at -90 degrees or 90 degrees South Latitude.
