Conjunctions join words, phrases, and clauses together. We use conjunctions every day. Some of the most common conjunctions are and, but, and or. There are three main types of conjunctions:
1. Coordinating conjunctions. These conjunctions join equal words, phrases, and independent clauses together.
2. Subordinating conjunctions. These conjunctions join unequal parts together. They join an independent clause to a dependent clause.
3. Correlative conjunctions. These conjunctions are used in pairs. like
either?or, both?and, neither?nor.
