There are four kinds of sentences.:
1. Declarative sentences: This kind of sentence states a fact or makes a statement. Most of the sentences we use are declarative sentences. They always end with a period.
? The Monitor and the Merrimack were called ironclads.
2. Interrogative sentences: This kind of sentence asks a question, and always ends with a question mark. If the sentence asks a question and needs an answer, it is an interrogative sentence.
? Have you ever heard of an ironclad ship?
