Excerpt
Adverbs modify or describe verbs, adjectives or other adverbs. They answer the questions, how, when, where, and why?
Adverbs can show up almost anywhere in a sentence, so it?s not as easy to find an adverb as it is to find an adjective. Adjectives usually come right before or right after the word they modify, but adverbs can show up anywhere.
Here is a handy tip you can use to find most adverbs. Find the verb in the sentence, and then ask these three questions:
1. How was the action done?
2. When was the action done?
3. Where was the action done?
