The New Seven Wonders of the World was a project that sought to revive the concept of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World. The goal was to replace the ancient wonders with more modern ones if appropriate. A private foundation named New7 Wonders Foundation conducted a poll to determine what the seven wonders should be. The winners of the poll were announced in Lisbon, Portugal, on July 7, 2007. The New Seven Wonders of the World are:
