Excerpt
Pablo Picasso was born in October 1881 and died in April 1973. He was born in Malaga, Spain and studied in the art schools of Barcelona and Madrid. However, he went to Paris in 1903 and spent most of his life in France. He is one of the most renowned 20th century painters and sculptors.
Picasso was a child prodigy when it came to art, thanks to his father, who was an art professor. At the age of 13, he was admitted to the Academy of Arts in Barcelona. Then at the age of 16, he was accepted to the Royal Academy of San Fernando in Madrid. However, he did not continue long there as he was not used to the formal ways of classes and did not attend them. Picasso is described as not being very disciplined and being somewhat of a rebel during his teenage years.
