If you want to write a sentence, or an email, or a history report, or a list of presents you want for your birthday, you have to use these handy tools. What are these tools? They are different types of words known as the parts of speech. There are eight of them:
1. Nouns: These are the naming words.
2. Verbs: The action words.
3. Pronouns: These words take the place of a noun.
4. Adjectives: Describing words that modify a noun or pronoun.
5. Adverbs: Words that modify verbs, adverbs, and adjectives.
6. Prepositions: These words show the relationship between nouns or pronouns to
other words in a sentence.
7. Conjunctions: These can join words, clauses, and phrases together.
8. Interjections: Words to express excitement, sadness, and other strong emotions.
