Every sentence must have a subject and a predicate. Subjects answer the question ? who or what is the sentence about? Subjects come from two parts of speech ? nouns or pronouns. Subjects can be either simple or complete.
The predicate is the action part of a sentence. It tells what the subject is or does. Predicates must have one verb. An easy way to find the predicate in a sentence is to ask this question. What is the subject doing? Just like subjects, predicates can be simple or complete.
