Have you ever wondered exactly what speed is? Speed is how far something travels in a unit of time. The speed of a vehicle is typically expressed in miles per hour. A car going a speed of fifty miles per hour will travel fifty miles in an hour?s time. Speed is expressed by using two units. In this example, the units used are miles and hours. Miles are units of length, and hours are units of time.
